These are not portraits, not sketches from nature, not illustrations for certain works. These are sketches - this is the only name for the original paintings by the Chinese artist Wang Shiao Pong. People in a wide variety of images, old and young, cheerful and sad, beautiful and not so, and mostly women - this is the main inspiration of the artist and the main theme of his works.
Despite the fact that Wang Xiao Pong is a well-known artist in China, he believes that he still has room to grow and what to learn, so the best pictures are yet to come. However, his work is frequently exhibited in Taipei, at the Guangzhou Art Exhibition, The Great Wall Memorial Hall Art Exhibition, and Guangxi Art Exhibition.
Wang Shiao Pong draws mainly in ink on rice paper, which is his special style, well recognized by fans of such painting. The artist uses very few colors, which does not prevent the paintings from "breathing", being holistic and complete. Yes, and they are called sketches, rather, for the lightness and carelessness of the lines.
Wang Shiao Pong graduated from art school in his homeland, Guangxi, where he teaches fine arts to this day. The artist received additional education at the China Central Academy of Fine Art and is a member of the Association of Chinese Artists. He also wrote two instruction books on how to draw people correctly, which are very popular among both beginners and experienced artists.
