Freezelight, or svetografiti - art, although new, but already known to everyone. But talented freezelight photographers are not yet known to everyone. For example, Dean Chamberlain, creating beautiful psychedelic light photos and working with Paul Macartney, Duran-duran, David Bowie and other stars.
Freezlight (photographic, luminography) is photographing this at a long exposure of objects painted with light. More details about what it is can be found in the article "Freezelight. The Art of Painting with Light".
Growing up in the 60s and 70s, that is, in the days of hippies, Dean Chamberlain actively uses psychedelic themes in his modern freezlight - creativity. Sometimes it takes him five hours to take each photo - so zealously he searches for interesting combinations of light that are not found in nature. With such a camera exposure, the iron exposure of the model is truly necessary.
His light portraits are absolutely surreal, but at the same time completely real. Dean Chamberlain reveals to us something that is impossible to believe and from which you do not want to take your eyes off. His technique is called "painting with light through space and time."
Chamberlain was born in Boston, Massachusetts. I started to take an interest in photography at the age of 13 when I got myself a Polaroid. He always wanted to become an artist and, thanks to his grandmother, started painting on canvas. He graduated from two colleges - Sheridan College and Rochester Institute of Technology. By the age of 20, he realized that his work would be associated with light.
Using his technique of exposure up to 5 hours, Dean Chamberlain photographed Paul McCartney, Madonna, David Bowie, and also shot several videos, for example, for Duran duran's song “All you want is”. For him, he received the MTV video music awards.
More details about his light portraits can be found on his website.
