Chocolate - black and white, bitter-crunchy and milky-sticky, sweet and tart - according to many, it is impossible not to fall in love with this sweet delicacy. It's not just fats and carbohydrates; no, chocolate is a whole ideology. It's no surprise that his admirers annually, in February, gather for a festival in Fairfax, Virginia, and elevate their love of chocolate to the level of art and enjoyable leisure.
Fairfax's old chocolate traditions only took shape as a festival in 1992. However, the festival quickly gained momentum and became a general holiday. It is clear that Fairfax is not the capital of the world, but a small American town of 25,000 inhabitants, but where else can you feel the real taste of good old chocolate, if not in the provinces?
But you can not only taste chocolate, but also devour it with your eyes: after all, one of the components of the holiday is a competition of pastry chefs. Participants create sculptures on it - unlike usual confectionery competitions, the only material for them is … You will never guess what!
Perhaps, due to such a thematic limitation, they lag somewhat behind, for example, the sweet masterpieces of Joseph Schmidt - but this is not the main thing at the festival. Here, first of all, the general spirit of fun and cheerfulness, which is inherent in both the chocolate itself and its lovers, is held in high esteem. Participants try their hand at preparing various sweet treats, get acquainted with the really rich history of the city, go on excursions to the local chocolate factory - and along the way they do not miss the opportunity to try something tasty, even if they are watching the figure: it's a festive day! Rather, two days - that is how long the festival lasts.
We can only rejoice that in the last century, thanks to the cheapening of cocoa beans and sugar, chocolate became available to almost everyone. That is why such masses of people can now express their sincere love for him. And not because it contains nutritious fats, carbohydrates and theobromine, but because chocolate is delicious and beautiful.

Jaisalmer Desert Festival: India's easternmost festival
They say, about venerable and pious listeners, that there is a certain city on the edge of the world called Jaisalmer, built in time immemorial by the glorious Indian maharaja Jaisal. And only one wealth, given by Allah, was among the venerable inhabitants of the city - the great desert, which began right at the Jaisalmer gates. But he is wise who can turn sand into gold; and since the inhabitants of Jaisal were as wise as they were pious, they figured out every year to arrange for the benefit of themselves and l
Share your chocolate! Unusual art project Scandybars: scan a chocolate bar
Those who have neither sisters nor brothers do not understand: they did not have to divide all the sweets and other goodies in half and treat the oldest or the youngest. However, it was also necessary to share with friends. Not to mention the yard hooligans who could easily walk up to a child who was enthusiastically unpacking a chocolate bar or peeling an orange, and take away half (at best), saying "the Lord told us to share." Only greedy and loners did not share, eating everything on their own
