The creative duo Bigert & Bergstrom is the author of many different installations. Their topics are very diverse, but it's not even the point. The main feature of Bigert & Bergstrom's works is their presentation: trying to look at the world from an unusual perspective, the authors present their installations to us in the form of huge molecules.
Installations by Bigert & Bergstrom are photographs pasted onto acrylic spheres. Each sphere contains a light bulb that provides soft lighting to the composition. The balls of different sizes are interconnected in the form of molecules and are suspended from the ceiling on thin wires. The subjects of images in photographs are different, but most often they are landscapes or interiors. According to Bigert & Bergstrom, the main goal of their work is to look at the space from a new perspective and show the result to the audience.
"Bigert & Bergstrom create some of the most recognizable - even internationally - examples of really interesting art", - this is how Jan Aman estimates the work of the duo.
Bigert & Bergstrom is a creative duo living and working in Stockholm, Sweden. The duo includes Lars Bergström and Mats Bigert. The two Swedes began their collaboration in 1990 and have since then undertaken a wide variety of art projects. Bigert & Bergstrom's works have been presented at exhibitions in Germany, Australia, USA, Norway and other countries.
