Illustrations by Martijn van der Linden are unusual in that he depicts not just beautiful, cute animals and birds, the heroes of his drawings are smart mice and dogs, fashionable cats and ducks, as well as funny mischievous hedgehogs. The artist's illustrations, which he draws for children's books, will be of interest not only to kids, but also to their parents.
When you draw pictures for children's fairy tales, the most important thing is that these pictures are not only colorful, but the heroes of the scenes depicted are not boring, but kind, open, beautiful and funny enough. Dressing his characters in such fashionable outfits, Martijn van der Linden seeks to show that they are no worse than people, they also have their own desires, interests, preferences, their own character and disposition.
The young artist Martijn van der Linden was born in 1979 in Oostburg, Holland. From 1997 to 2001 he studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Arts in Rotterdam to become an illustrator. In his third year, he created his first book cover illustration for Lemniscaat. Currently, he draws for many publishing houses, creating pictures for fairy tales, illustrations for various books and even interior drawings. Such is the jack of all trades!
