Have we all seen ourselves playing computer games? The bodies are tense, the lips are compressed, the eyes are intently staring at one point. Photographer Robbie Cooper has created an interesting series of photographs of children, capturing them in a fun game. Former photojournalist Robbie Cooper called the photo project "Immersion", which means immersion in English.

Robbie Cooper is a photographer and videographer. As a photographer, he focuses his attention on the digital representation of ourselves, our essence, so that we can see ourselves from the outside. As a video journalist, he makes interesting and provocative videos and photos, showing people in the most unusual situations that are part of the life of an ordinary person. Immersion features portraits of gamers from the USA, Europe, China, Japan and South Korea. What makes the series really interesting is the perspective of children and adolescents. Robbie Cooper caught on camera the expressions and reactions of children when they played violent video games, or simply surfed the Internet on questionable pages. The expressions on the faces of gamers are almost the same, and some of them have no emotions at all, while others, on the contrary, are shown in a tense state.

Many of us really spend a lot of time in front of the monitor, playing, working, or just surfing the Internet. According to a study in the United States, on average, every school-age child spends 4 hours a day in front of a TV and computer playing video games. The average adult probably spends much more time. This has already become a part of our life. It is really difficult for people, especially children, to admit that they are addicted to computer games, that they begin to live the life of their virtual heroes, taking fiction for reality.

In the United States, South Korea, China, as well as European countries, Internet cafes are always full of children who fill it like ants. Watching them, photographer Robbie Cooper got the idea to create a project like Immersion, which presents portraits of contemporary life and culture of the 21st century.
