In June of this year, a huge white cloud appeared outside the walls of the Cleveland Museum of Art. True, nature has nothing to do with it: “White Cloud” is the name of a balloon installation that local urban art master Mark Reigelman created in honor of the summer solstice.
So, on the longest day of the year, the Cleveland Museum of Art decided to throw a party that was supposed to be attended by at least five thousand people. Accordingly, on this occasion, a competition was announced for the best installation that would decorate the facade of the building. Out of more than twenty proposals, the winner is the project of Mark Reigelmen - "White Cloud".
The installation, which the author carried out in collaboration with the Cleveland Public Art organization, took two weeks to complete. To do this, they needed about a hundred huge white balloons and twelve steel poles, to which the structure was attached with wire. Against the background of the stone walls of the museum, the installation of light balls swaying from the movement of the wind looked especially contrasting and effective. At night, the "white cloud" was also not forgotten: thanks to the efforts of the Vincent Lighting company, it was provided with excellent illumination.
The installation was completed on Friday evening, June 18th. And then the weather intervened in people's plans, as is often the case. The next day, a thunderstorm broke out, and the gusts of wind were so strong that for security reasons the "white cloud" was decided to be dismantled on Saturday morning. Thus, only a few visitors to the Cleveland Museum of Art had a chance to see the live installation: the rest had to be content with photographs. However, the creators of "White Cloud" are not discouraged and believe that their work is a great example of taking creative risks, even if the subsequent triumph lasts only a few moments.

Scattered Crowd. "Small crowd" of balloons in a musical installation by William Forsythe
A spacious hall with high columns, in it there are thousands of white figures, and they all move smoothly, selflessly to the beat to the beautiful gentle music of Ekkehard Ehlers. This is not a royal ball, not a concert for the intelligentsia, and not even shooting a movie, video, commercial or show, but an amazing, incredibly beautiful musical installation Scattered Crowd, which was recently seen by visitors to the Bockenheimer Depot gallery in Frankfurt, Germany. It was written by renowned choreographer William Forsyth (W
Hot air balloons set a record: 343 balloons in the sky of France
Hot air balloons, or simply balloons - an easy and beautiful way to the sky; that's why hundreds of festivals are dedicated to them (for example, the autumn festival of balloons in Canberra). But still, the largest of them takes place in the homeland of the hot air balloon - in France, or rather, next to the Chamblay-Bussieres military base. And it was there that on July 27 they set a new world record for the number of balloons flying into the sky at the same time - one of the most beautiful records that can ever be
Mushroom Cloud: A mushroom cloud of mushrooms. Installation by Chris Drury
"… For a long time the guys could not understand what kind of" fungus "grows in the distance" - this is how a good half of the bloodthirsty stories about a little boy that children told each other when I went to school ends. A similar "fungus" has grown in the portfolio of contemporary artist Chris Drury, except that nothing had to be blown up for this, and no one was hurt. This peaceful installation is called Mushroom Cloud
