On June 23, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk launched a festival of feature and television films called "Morning of the Motherland". It ended on June 29, and the main prize of this event, which was held for the second time, was given to a series called Call DiCaprio. This event brought together a large number of famous Russian musicians, producers, directors, dancers, theater and film actors, singers, as well as many other figures of Russian culture. A total of 12 TV series were presented at the second festival "Morning of the Motherland". These works were: "An ordinary woman", "Copper sun", "Better than people", "House arrest", "Garden Ring", "Part of the Universe", "Dinosaur", "Bad weather", "Call DiCaprio", " Sparta "," Bonus "and" Godunov ". During this event, TV series were shown. After the screening of one series, film critics discussed the new work, and the audience could watch it all. The evaluation of the new series was carried out by cinematographer Yuri Shaigardanov, actress Irina Gorbacheva, film director Dmitry Iosifov, actor Yevgeny Sidikhin, composer Yuri Poteeenko, screenwriter Alexei Kiryushchenko, producer Vasily Sigarev.
The listed works were included in the competition program of the event. In addition to her, guests of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and residents of this city could also visit the screenings of out-of-competition films. All of them were shown at different venues in the city. In addition to the screening of the series, it also hosted performances and concerts. The guests of this event could attend meetings with directors Valery Todorovsky, Karen Shakhnazarov, Yegor Baranova, Andrey Smirnov and Vladimir Menshov.
The head of the jury this time was Vladimir Menshov, People's Artist of the Russian Federation. Sergei Zhigunov, a famous director, actor and producer, became the president of the festival. This time, the organizers of this event decided to leave an interesting creative gift to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, which was named “Cinema quotes on the streets of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk”. Within the framework of this project, during the entire event, artists who came from the Far East to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk painted heroes of famous Russian and Soviet films on the walls of typical city buildings, and also left their winged statements.
