The main goal of the creative competition was to draw public attention to the problem of the spread of infectious diseases. Also, with the help of art, caring townspeople want to support people with a positive HIV status.
Adult citizens of St. Petersburg and residents of the Leningrad Region will be able to take part in the visual competition. The winner of the competition will receive a grant of 100 thousand rubles and will be able to personally bring his idea to life - one of the inner walls of the St. Petersburg AIDS Center will become a "canvas".
The Center acquired its own premises in 1998. Initially, he worked as a consultative and dispensary office on the basis of the city infectious diseases hospital №30 named. SP Botkin, and only by 1987 received the status of the Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS. To this day, the specialists of the institution help patients undergo diagnostics and treatment. The social mission of the employees of the "Colors of Life" gallery is cultural and educational activities. Exhibition space with an area exceeding 150 sq. meters, allows you to organize shows by Russian and foreign artists. The project, which has been operating since 2018, does not limit itself to a certain direction in painting and opens up access to the main trends in contemporary art for a wide audience.
