Since the artist Paul Normansell graduated from the Birmingham Institute of the Arts with a degree in fine arts, his work has received international acclaim and has been shown around the world. The secret of the popularity of the artist's paintings lies in the fact that they are drawn with the original point technique, with elements of the illusion effect.
His unique style of painting is influenced by pointillism (the manner of writing in separate strokes of a regular, point or rectangular shape). The artist paints his paintings on a thin-sheet aluminum plate using a brush and glossy paint, creating graceful and detailed portraits made up of thousands of hand-drawn dots of various shapes. Such a technique for creating paintings and the reflective properties of glossy paint make the viewer look for the right angle of contemplation of the picture, because if you stand at the wrong angle, you can lose the tone, clarity, and color gamut of the portrait. The picture comes to life and a familiar silhouette appears.
As the object of his point art, Paul Normansell chose the icons of show business and the fashion industry, beautiful, stylish and elegant: Agness Dayne, Merlin Monroe, Angelina Jolie, Bob Marley, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Kate Moss and others.
Paul Normansell's work is a kind of experiment with light and illusion. His works of art are based on the study of light and how colors stimulate feelings and emotions within a person, as well as the different meanings that each color carries, and its ability to evoke certain reactions in people.
