The National Portrait Gallery of Great Britain will start work this summer photo exhibition "Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon"dedicated to her life and work.
The grand opening of the exhibition is planned for July 2, the exposition will be valid until October 18, 2015. A total of 60 retro photographs of Audrey Hepburn will be presented. These are pictures that were taken in different years of the actress's life. Visitors will be able to see the work of such famous American and English photographers as Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Norman Parkinson, Angus McBean and Irwin Penn.
Audrey Hepburn began her creative career as a ballerina, danced in London theaters. Her acting career began with a number of European films and Broadway productions, and her greatest achievement in cinema was the Oscar for the female lead in the American film Roman Holiday. On account of Audrey, there are many other film awards - the Golden Globe, BAFTA and others.
The actress paid a lot of attention to social activities, in 1988 she became an international goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, dealt with the problems of children in the least prosperous regions of Africa, South America and Asia, for which she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Remembering this legendary woman, British actor Peter Ustinov remarked: “The numbers say that Audrey died young. What the numbers don't say is that Audrey would die young at any age.
