The film "Stolen Treasures of Europe" could not get a distribution certificate. The ministry decided to refuse to issue it the day before the film was supposed to be released in Russia. This film tells about masterpieces from European countries, which were exported to Germany during the Second World War and entered the collection of Hitler.

On the territory of the Russian Federation, the distributor of this film was supposed to be the Nevafilm company. It was planned to launch the film on the big screens on September 6 by the next 73rd anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The fact that the film has not yet been released, which is sad not only for the distributor, but for the viewers who planned to watch the picture on the big screen, was reported by the CinemaEmotion rental company on social networks. No reasons for the refusal to issue a rental license are currently named and will become known within 14 days after the refusal of the Ministry of Culture.

Oleg Berezin, General Director of Nevafilm, said that the reason for him is obvious. By the way, because of her, I would not have been able to get permission to show the film "Ordinary Fascism", because in it and the film "Stolen Treasures of Europe" the same newsreels are used. Berezin calls the current situation ironic, since the Russian Ministry of Culture does not want to give permission to show a motion picture about art, which was skillfully shot by talented filmmakers from Italy and is a continuation of the famous so-called museum series.

The Stolen Treasures of Europe were directed by Claudio Poli. Its world premiere took place on March 13 this 2018. In Russia, it was planned to launch it on September 6, having previously shown it at the State Tretyakov Gallery on September 4. But even here they did not have time to show it, having learned that the film would not receive a rental certificate just a few hours before the scheduled screening. Earlier, the Ministry of Culture had already refused to issue a distribution certificate to the film "Death of Stalin", citing the presence of signs of extremism in this motion picture.
