Looking at the picture, it's hard to believe that this ordinary room with all the amenities is a confinement cell, and the man is an experienced drug addict. We are talking about a new Norwegian prison with very "humane" conditions of stay. Representatives of the law believe that finding criminals in such comfort will force them to rethink their behavior and stimulate the desire to take the "right" path.

Norway - a country with "advanced" ideas about humanity and philanthropy, sometimes even too much. Recently, a prison appeared on its territory. Halden fengsel, a stay in which is more like a resort than a punishment for crimes committed. There are 250 people in it, half of whom are rapists and murderers, and the other are convicted of selling drugs.

During the day, these people can almost freely walk around the prison. You can even find places where there are no surveillance cameras. The guards often interact with the inmates. This can be a coffee conversation, a joint dinner, or a volleyball game. Some law enforcement officers do not carry weapons with them, so as not to create a tense situation.

Whether it is humane or not - everyone decides for himself. However the Norwegian Anders Breivik, who shot 69 people in cold blood, is held in almost the same comfortable conditions as in Halden Fengsel. Meanwhile, artist Jonas Dahlberg is designing three memorials to the victims of the Norwegian terrorist called "The wound of memory".
