Extraordinary works of a Colombian artist Federico Uribeand readers Culturology probably remember his sculptures made of colored pencils, upon closer inspection, they look even more extraordinary. Throughout his artistic career, this author has not created a single "traditional" painting or sculpture, more and more inclined towards non-standard materials for creativity. The same colored pencils, which he does not use for drawing, or shoe laces, which he does not lace up into his shoes, but creates surreal paintings from the series from them. Shoe laces … The work of this author can be called experimental, because looking at his work, one might get the impression that he is not serious, but for fun. That he plays like this, folding, shifting and twisting hundreds of multi-colored laces, forming funny faces, faces and figures out of them, and when something definite turns out, he continues to move in this direction, so that as a result, the laces take on the images of strange people, busy in one way or another. However, the artist approaches his work with all seriousness, even though they all look, to put it mildly, crazy, then twisting their insides, then biting their teeth into a live chicken.
Such a flight of thought and imagination, which Federico Uribe demonstrates through his paintings, can only be envied. The ability to think outside the generally accepted norms, to go beyond the humble earthly fantasies, such a talent is not given to everyone, and if it is developed, you can achieve incredible success. This is what the Colombian artist is doing, using laces not for their intended purpose, but for creative purposes, turning them into masterpieces of modern art that will not leave indifferent any spectator.
From time to time, the ShoeLaces series of shoelaces is replenished with new works by the talented author who currently lives and works in Miami. You can see the paintings of Federico Uribe and get acquainted with other areas of his work on his website.

Pictures that can be "read". Creativity Liza Falzon (Liza Falzon)
The paintings of the Irish artist Liza Falzon are reminiscent of stories from a fairy tale. True, children are unlikely to want to read it, the pictures are too adult in it. And the characters are, rather, suitable for adult books about the meaning of life and the search for truth. However, the artist knows about this - in addition to pictorial masterpieces, she also composes verbal
