Our mothers in helmets and armor are beating in blood against iron old age … What people do not only do to stop the running of time! They buy expensive anti-wrinkle creams, inject "Botox" under the skin, master traditional medicine. But old age is beautiful. At least, this is the conviction of the Russian photographer Andrei Zharov, who created a whole collection of portraits of elderly people. What came out of all this, you can see in our review.
Critics note the amazing contrast in the artist's works. Almost every portrait is particularly expressive. Andrey Zharov manages not only to paintfully convey every wrinkle on a person's face, but also to emphasize the expression in the eyes of an elderly person. People in photographs look at the viewer with eyes full of pain.
It becomes clear that the old people have lived a long and difficult life. But the worst thing is that old age did not bring people relief from difficulties. On the contrary, there have only been more of them. And these are not always health problems. In our country, people of advanced age suffer from lack of money, indifference of loved ones and the absolute deafness of state bodies to the problems of old people.
Unfortunately, time for the animals is even more difficult. Aged dogs can no longer guard the house, horses cannot cope with arable land, goats do not give milk. Many of them end up on the street. Isa Leshko's unique photo project illustrates animals in old age very well.
