Occupy Wall Street protests and similar movements around the world have had a very noticeable impact on world culture. Think of the anti-capitalist dollars Occupy George or the Giant Monopoly Board by artist Banksy. And now, in the corresponding protest style, there is also a series of home furniture, also called Occupy!
This furniture was presented by the Venetian studio Kabiljo Inc. within the framework of the Milan Design Week 2012 taking place these days. Its concept, appearance and name are based on anti-capitalist protests that have been taking place around the world since September 2011.
And precisely, the appearance of these pieces of furniture is based on a variety of things that participants in anti-capitalist tent cities use. Their life is very simple and unpretentious - the protesters use old mattresses or even springs from them as furniture, some pieces of wood, cardboard, pipes.
These same elements were used by the designers of the studio Kabiljo Inc., creating the furniture of the Occupy series! So these sofas, beds and armchairs turned out to be very simple and uncomplicated, but at the same time bright, unusual, memorable, stylish and even sexy! Their creators tried to achieve this effect!
