Monsters have settled in the Parisian park Saint-Cloud. They live in trees, hiding among the branches, sometimes looking out, frightening the walking people with their eerie appearance. These monsters are called gargoyles, and they appeared in the trees thanks to the French artist Clement Briend, as they are the basis of his unusual art project called "Journées du Patrimoine, Domaine de Saint-Cloud" (Legacy of the days, Park Saint-Cloud) …

This art project is a light installation based on the author's desire to explore the possibilities of night and pre-dawn twilight, as well as the potential of different light sources. For an art project in the Park of Saint-Cloud, he used directional light projectors, illuminating the crowns of trees in such a way as to paint the eerie faces of gargoyles monsters with light. And a light breeze stirring the leaves helped to revive these characteristic images.

Clement Brieu believes that lighting is the most powerful tool for an artist, and indeed for any creative person. Having learned how to competently work with light and its sources, we can change the familiar objects beyond recognition, showing them completely different, as we have not seen them yet. “I always wanted to learn how to photograph the world not as we see it, but from a different angle, from a different point of view. Therefore, I decided to find for myself those tools that would help me achieve what I wanted. Now I know that lighting is my main weapon - this is how the artist says about his work.
