So, the film "Brother-2" can be called cult Russian cinema, and "The Matrix" in Hollywood. However, are there any relatively new paintings that can also become iconic over time?

The action of the picture takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity is almost completely destroyed by terrible humanoid monsters. Monsters have very sensitive hearing, so the only chance for humans to survive is to behave as quietly as possible. The king of horror Stephen King himself spoke of the film extremely positively: “'QUIET PLACE' is an extraordinary work. Awesome game, but most importantly, it's SILENCE and how it makes the camera's eyes open wide enough for a few movies."

8. The House That Jack Built

Director Lars von Trier is famous for experimenting with various psychological aspects of people's lives in his films. If in the film "Nymphomaniac", which may also well become a cult, Trier explored the sexual side of man, then in the film "The House That Jack Built" the viewer is completely immersed in the world of violence. Not everyone manages to withstand this film - even at the premiere during the Cannes Film Festival, about a hundred spectators left the audience. Variety editor Ramin Setudeh, who was in the audience that day, said that watching this film was one of the most unpleasant in his entire life. And nevertheless, after the end of the picture, the audience gave a standing ovation.

9. Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell brought the cyberpunk theme back into the trend. It tells about the time when cybernetics fully entered the daily life of people, and it became possible to artificially improve their abilities, including strength and intelligence. The film flopped at the box office, but on social media the entire film, especially its visual part, and the image of Scarlett Johanssen as Motoko Kusanagi became instantly iconic.

10. IT / IT

This is the second adaptation of the famous Stephen King novel, and according to reviews from critics and ordinary viewers, this film literally breathed life into the horror film industry anew. This film turned out to be truly scary, but at the same time surprisingly attractive. And the clown Pennywise himself (played by Bill Skarsgård) turned out exactly as Stephen King intended him - scary to the chills, from one smile of which it becomes uncomfortable.
