On the territory of the Kiev art-plant "Platforma" on September 22 and 23, the Comic-Con Ukraine festival was held, which is dedicated to contemporary pop culture. A lot of people were waiting for this festival, and for a long time they were preparing for this event. As a result, a huge number of guests gathered on one site, most of whom were dressed in costumes of comics, anime, video games, superheroes and movie villains.
For the first time, the Comic-Con festival, as reported by ukr.media, was held about fifty years ago in the American city of San Diego. It turned out to be bright, interesting, fun, and therefore, over time, it began to be held in many other countries. Each such festival gathers a huge number of fans of TV series, films, comics, who dress up in the costumes of their favorite characters.
This is not the first time such a festival has been held on the territory of Ukraine, but it was this year that it was the most ambitious. In total, this event was attended by more than ten thousand people. Moreover, these are not only Ukrainians, there were a considerable number of foreign guests at the festival. In the current 2018, a considerable number of celebrities arrived at Comic-Con Ukraine. These included American actor Brian Descartes, American actress Amelia Rose, British actor John Rhys-Davis, and others.
The scale of the event was astounding this year. One day was not enough for guests to visit all the thematic zones. The main event took place on the stage, because here hundreds of festival participants competed to ensure that their costume was recognized as the best. There was a lot to compete for, since the best suit received a prize of 100 thousand hryvnia. The victory was won by a whole group called STARBUTT, which delighted the audience with high-quality costumes of the heroes of Starcraft 2.
During the interviews, the winners said that most of the costumes were made on their own and only a few items such as wigs, lenses and jewelry were purchased ready-made. It took a lot of time to create the costumes, as well as money. The cost of one of their suits is about 8 thousand hryvnia. It is worth noting that they weigh a lot - 10 kilograms.
It should be noted that some guests made or bought costumes of their favorite characters not only for themselves. They came to the event with their pets, who were also dressed up in equally spectacular costumes.
