The Baikal Christmas Festival is taking place in Buryatia. This year it is already the tenth anniversary festival, to which over 50 musicians have arrived. These include performers of folk music, violists, opera singers, violinists, pianists, and choristers. Natalya Ulanova, who holds the position of artistic director at the Buryat State Philharmonic, told about this to news publications.

During the anniversary festival, it was decided to hold ten concerts. Ulan-Ude was chosen as the venue for nine of them. They decided to hold another concert in Severobaikalsk. To participate in such an important and interesting event, more than 50 musicians from different regions of the Russian Federation arrived, representing different musical trends. This event is held within the framework of the project called "All-Russian Philharmonic Seasons" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The opening of the festival took place traditionally on New Year's Eve. It all began with a performance by Mikhail Dubov, a soloist of the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, in a Catholic church. After organ music, a program of world music masterpieces was presented. The renowned pianist Dmitry Masleev played works by great composers such as Liszt, Beethoven, Chopin, etc.

On January 4, Anna Aglatova will perform. This is a famous soprano singer who will perform romances and arias. Ulanova called the singer the owner of a unique voice and noted that such bright soloists rarely perform in Ulan-Ude.

Tenor Mikhail Pirogov will perform vocal parts and romances on the stage of the Buryat State Philharmonic at Christmas. The program also includes carols, romances and spiritual Russian music performed by Natalia Yurgina, an opera singer and the Metropolitan Choir of the Ulan-Ude Cathedral. Dmitry Budnikov, a Buryat composer, will hold a recital. Pianist Anna Kopylova and violist Vladimir Tkachenko will present a refined, touching, lyrical program "Concert by Candlelight", which has already become popular with the audience.

At one time, concerts in Severobaykalsk ceased to be given. The reason for this was the difficulty in getting to this separated city. This year the Baikal Christmas Festival decided to return to this good tradition. The concert in this remote city will be given by the artists of the Ulan-Ude Opera and Ballet Theater.
