In Kaliningrad on the basis of the Baltic Federal University. Immanuel Kant opened a museum of Soviet childhood. All the exhibits, of which there are about two thousand, were donated to the new museum by students and staff of the university, as well as residents of Kaliningrad, who could not remain indifferent.
The founders decided to bring part of the museum into the virtual world. Thanks to this solution and with the help of a special virtual reality helmet, everyone can travel back to the period of the 40-60s and see how the rooms in apartments and houses were arranged at that time. Also in the museum you can watch everyone's favorite Soviet films and read books.
Efim Fidrya, Vice-Rector of the University for Social Communications, noted that this museum evokes a lot of positive emotions among visitors. He said that each exhibit in this museum has its own history and this is very important. The creators of the museum approached their work responsibly and found the perfect combination of modern technology with real exhibits. For people who lived during the Soviet Union, such a museum is a real time machine that helps to remember the old days.
In the future, the new museum in Kaliningrad plans to hold literary evenings, film screenings, thematic lectures, theatrical performances that children and adults can attend, and seminars. Children from the kindergarten have already come to the museum, who read the book by Viktor Dragunsky "Deniskin's stories" in the museum, after which they also watched the film based on this book.
One of the founders of the museum, Elena Barinova, shared her plans for the future. Active cooperation with Kaliningrad schools is planned from September. For schoolchildren within the museum, classes on literature and history of Russia will be held. It is also planned to expand the museum in the future, which they want to carry out at the expense of the audience located in the neighborhood. Here, presumably, the room will be stylized as a room in the style of the 70-80s.
The main idea of creating a museum of the Soviet past is to show the public the culture of the times of the Soviet Union, its wealth, which very few know about and consider the cultural layer of that time very poor and uninteresting.
