If feeding newborns with breast milk is approved by doctors and society, then the opinion about breastfeeding children over two years old is no longer so unambiguous. Many consider this outrageous and wrong, while there are many mothers who do not see anything shameful in this. Photographer Natalie McCain just showed such mothers who believe that as long as there is milk - you can and should feed your children with it.
For photographer Natalie McCain, this is not the first time she has brought up the taboo topic of motherhood. This time, as part of her project "The Honest Body", she decided to talk about those mothers who continue to feed their children with breast milk until 2-3 years old. The photographer herself complains that such mothers often have to be ashamed of their decision, and this is strongly condemned by society. "Women are asked to go to the bathroom, cover themselves, or even stop feeding their children in public. It seems to me that these women need to be supported, not criticized."
Natalie herself has two children, and therefore she herself knows not by hearsay about all the problems that are associated with motherhood. People prefer to idealize pregnancy and motherhood, keeping silent about all the problems a woman may face. "I wanted to show how natural and natural it is to feed children after a year. It is a natural bond between mother and child, which is maintained from the very birth."
“Many people condemn feeding without realizing it. I hope that by looking at these pictures and reading the stories of these women, people will begin to realize this connection and stop judging these families. is wrong for everyone."
One of the heroines of the project Natalie believes that breastfeeding is attractive. "There is a certain stigma associated with breastfeeding, especially a 2-3 year old child. And I would like our country to support and encourage women to feed their children naturally."
Another model complained that people "judge what they don't understand." "It's just that some people will always judge others, no matter what they do." "When I first saw someone feeding a 3-year-old with breast milk, it scared me off. It can be really shocking if you are not used to this and not see it every day."
At the same time, the World Health Organization recommends feeding children with breast milk up to 6 months, and then accustoming children to the usual "adult" food, to which the child should completely switch to two years. Mother's milk provides your baby with all the micronutrients it needs to live, including antibodies that protect your baby from a variety of diseases, including diarrhea or pneumonia. Women who breastfeed their babies are much less likely to develop cancer of the female organs or breast cancer. However, according to recent studies, in Britain less than one percent (!) Of mothers breastfeed their babies for more than six months. Women find this behavior "uncomfortable" and "indecent".
The previous part of the Honest Body project was devoted to the appearance of women who have just given birth to their children - you can see these photos in our article "Photos of women after and during pregnancy."

Strictly speaking, adhering to the second opinion, the Belgian Frieke Janssens decided to draw everyone's attention to a significant problem with a series of her works, in which
