Representatives of the international center for the arts of Yekaterinburg with the name "Main Avenue" spoke about the damage by visitors to the painting by Francisco Goya and the painting by Salvador Dali. These works were in a bundle, and therefore were simultaneously damaged. A group of four girls was involved in these events, and when they visited the center, they behaved inappropriately.
After conducting research, it turned out that the frame of Goya's painting was broken, and the glass was also damaged. The creation of Salvador Dali suffered more, as the canvas itself was damaged in it. At the moment, both works of the great masters are under examination, and proceedings are underway in connection with this incident.
According to one of the news outlets, the girls seriously damaged the work of Dali Goya in the course of how they decided to take a photo with them. After damaging the exhibits, they tried to hide as soon as possible. Two girls were involved in the damage itself, who were found and interrogated shortly after the incident.
The offenders were filmed by surveillance cameras. According to the girls themselves, they did not want to harm the works of art, the same can be seen in the video. The stand with the works of the great masters fell, while one girl was nearby, and the other was photographing her friend against the background of these works. Since the visitors had no malicious intent, they did not start a criminal case.
Not everyone agrees with this decision of the law enforcement agencies. It was noted that both works, which became exhibits of the exhibition in the Yekaterinburg art center, were provided by Oleg Gusev, a private collector. During the organization of the exposition, Dali's canvas was securely fixed, and therefore it could not be damaged by carelessness.
The injured works of the great masters were withdrawn from the exhibition, but it continues to work in the same mode. The unpleasant event that happened did not affect its conduct in any way. To prevent a repetition of this situation, all visitors were simply reminded of the need to follow the rules of conduct at such events.
An exhibition of works by Salvador Dali in Yekaterinburg opened on October 5. It presents several series of works by the famous artist at once. They also decided to include works from the Caprichos series, created by Francisco Goya. Next to this work was placed an interpretation of this work from Salvador Dali.
