It seems that the creator of Cheburashka, Gena the crocodile and Matroskin the cat is a kind-hearted man. More than one generation of children has grown up on the works of Eduard Uspensky, and his name is associated with his favorite characters in books and cartoons. But the writer's daughter, even two years after his death, shrinks with fear, remembering the man who gave her life. Tatiana Uspenskaya also opposes that the prize for children's literature "Big Fairy Tale" bears the name of her father.
Strange childhood
Eduard Uspensky first married in 1963 to Rimma, with whom he studied at the Moscow Aviation Institute. Five years after the wedding, the daughter of the spouses Tatyana was born. Until the time the girl was 11 years old, she was a happy child. The father worked as a counselor in the children's camp and often took his daughter with him, the girl's friends came to their house, and everyone was happy to communicate with Eduard Nikolaevich. He often spoke to young listeners and read his books.
If the father and daughter had any disagreements, the mother defended the girl, but after the divorce of her parents, Tatyana's life changed a lot. About how her relationship with her father was built after that, Tatyana Uspenskaya decided to tell only after he was gone. As she admitted in one of her interviews, until now, when she remembers that time, she is seized with an almost animal fear, sometimes the temperature rises and an allergic reaction begins.
After the parents divorced, the daughter stayed with her father, because the mother did not have a constant source of income, and Eduard Uspensky decided that she would be better with him. True, Tatyana herself recalls everything with constant horror. Every year the father's character became worse, he did not restrain his own emotions and shouted at his daughter at the slightest offense.
At the same time, he fell into such a rage that Tatyana began to be afraid of him. Even before the divorce of their parents, their whole family went to the sect of Viktor Stolbun, and after Eduard Uspensky continued to visit the "guru". When Stolbun opened a "commune" for difficult teenagers, the father decided to give his daughter there for several months. There, too, it was customary to shout at children, use them for hard physical work in the field or on a farm, and apply constant psychological pressure.
Once Tatiana could not stand it and simply ran away from the sect during the next field work. Fortunately, her father did not take her back, he left her at home. Father's rudeness and rudeness never ceased to amaze Tatiana. When she went to college, things got even worse.
Escape to marriage
Tatyana Uspenskaya in one of her interviews said that in her youth her father beat her several times. Angry at something, Eduard Nikolaevich could whip his daughter on the cheeks, and then push her out of the house in home clothes right into the cold. When the girl froze, she did not go home, but to the house to Ouspensky's personal secretary. To get into the house later, she still had to beg for her father's forgiveness. Sometimes Tatyana hid under the table, but her father, filled with rage, could pull her out and hit her.
At the same time, quarrels between father and daughter could arise literally out of the blue: an innocent request to buy a dress for prom or something like that. As Tatiana assures, her father brought her things from foreign business trips, only he bought them not in ordinary stores, but in second-hand stores. He did not give gifts to his daughter at all, he forgot to wish her a happy birthday, he was very angry if she did not do what he ordered. Eduard Uspensky did not consider it necessary to attend his daughter's graduation party, but insisted on her entering a technical university, although she really wanted to study languages.
At the age of 18, Tatyana married a classmate, just to get out of her father's house as quickly as possible. Only in her husband's family did she understand what a normal family relationship is, when they do not shout at you for any reason and do not count the cutlets you have eaten. The father appeared at the wedding for a few minutes, and initially did not intend to help the young family.
Tatyana Uspenskaya admits that she is bitter to remember the man who was her father. And it is a shame that the "Big Tale" award for achievements in the field of children's literature will bear his name. But after she was told that the name of the award was given not for personal qualities, but for creativity, she decided not to prove anything to anyone.
Forgiveness is impossible
Tatyana Eduardovna does not live well and speaks frankly: money would definitely not interfere with her and her sick son. The father deliberately left her and her grandchildren (Tatyana also has an adult daughter) without an inheritance. But a long time ago, during his lifetime, he copied half of the wooden house on the Klyazma to her.
Ouspensky's daughter was not upset about this, she already knew: she did not have to expect anything good from her father. She still believes that it was because of him, his constant screams, pressure and even beatings that she became neurotic. The last few years they completely stopped communicating, after Eduard Nikolaevich invited his grandson, named in his honor, and when he arrived, he did not even call the boy to the table, making him wait until he and his wife had lunch.
Tatyana Eduardovna's resentment against her father is so deep that she categorically refused to go to his funeral and the anniversary of his death. She just doesn't want to remember the person who gave her life. Sometimes emotions overwhelm her, and Tatyana Uspenskaya frankly calls the writer, who created many kind children's works, a domestic tyrant and a sadist.
The author of wonderful children's fairy tales, the creator of Cheburashka and the cat Matroskin, Eduard Uspensky, lived a bright life full of events and creative meetings. Cartoons based on his works have been watched with delight by more than one generation of children. He was a maximalist and could go to open conflict, defending his interests. And he constantly tried to find his happiness. Three women left a mark in his soul, one of whom became his wife twice.
