Unusual sculptures by a young Czech artist named Michal Trpak can be called creative riddles, puzzles, unknown and unexplored "something", the meaning of which is known only to himself. But this is why they are attractive. Many people like to solve riddles, and even more so if they are so cleverly designed and presented as the philosophical sculptural compositions of Michal Trpak. With his installation Slight Uncertainty, an original miniature with umbrellas, readers of Cultural Studies are already familiar. Next in line - Escape into reality … This is one of the most unusual works of the young artist, since it is simultaneously in two formats: two-dimensional, that is, in the form of a painting, and three-dimensional, in the form of a sculpture. At the same time, sculpture is still a continuation of the picture, a part of one whole, which for some reason fell into two halves, maintaining an inextricable connection between them.
Probably, in the author's view, this is how an escape into reality takes place. From the world drawn, invented in dreams, dreams and dreams, a person enters the real world, where everything is completely different. The two-dimensional world distorts reality, makes everything look at only one angle. Whereas the real world, three-dimensional, gives much more options and options, not to mention viewing angles and perspectives. However, this is all philosophy, an attempt to unravel the thoughts and goals of the author of the sculpture Escape into reality. In fact, the casket can be opened much easier: the artist creates two-dimensional worlds, and the sculptor helps them move into the three-dimensional world. More real and tangible. In any case, the truth is known only to Michal Trpak himself, whose work can be found on the author's website.
