This watercolor artist creates stunning cats, enigmatic and adorable on wet paper. His monochrome images of furry pets, slightly blurring on paper, have already conquered many Internet users.
The way in which the artist depicts fluffy couch potatoes gives out in him, if not an inveterate cat lover, then at least a person next to whom a cat has lived happily for a long time. Endre Penovac He is well acquainted with the habits of these animals, with their antics and habits - the cats in his illustrations are as detached and self-sufficient as in life. Often they even turn their backs to the viewer, demonstrating feigned superiority and fluffy tails.
Drawing on wet paper, Penovak achieves an interesting effect: the ink and watercolors used by the artist playfully spread over the surface of the sheet, creating the illusion of a picture through glass. The viewer seems to be looking at the pets from the street through a rain-drenched window. Although this technique provides a stunning visual effect, it complicates the life of the artist himself a lot. The creative process becomes difficult to control - ink and watercolors flow almost randomly over the paper.
Endre Penovak was born in the Serbian village of Tornos in 1956. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad. Started working as a freelance artist in 1981. Since then, he has repeatedly exhibited both at home and abroad (Croatia, Germany, France, Hungary, Bosnia).
Another terrific artist who has decided to curb watercolor hails from Zagreb. His name is Joseph Zbukvic. Lyrical and atmospheric paintings Zbukvich has already won over the visitors of almost all galleries in the world, just like his ability to tell about almost any subject or phenomenon using amazingly accurate visual language.

And it is not at all surprising that these watercolor purrs became the favorites of the public not only on the Internet, but also spread all over the world
Crumbled watercolor portraits. Celebrities in Crushed Watercolor Portraits by Borja Martinez
The portraits created by the young Spanish artist Borja Martinez, although they are watercolors, are not painted on paper, but "crumbled". Instead of dipping a brush in water and then picking up paint of the desired color from a palette, Borja Martinez breaks dry watercolor into small pieces, down to grains of sand, and then lays out portraits of celebrities from these multi-colored crumbs. This unusual project is called Crushed Watercolor Portraits
