No matter how much they talk about the American sense of humor, you can thank lovers of fast food and Coca-Cola at least for giving the world a comedy series in the middle of the last century The Flintstones. Not everyone knows that with a strong desire, true admirers of this funny family have a wonderful opportunity to travel back in time and go to the Stone Age. Northern Arizona has a unique park Bedrock, stylized as a primitive settlement, where you can feel like visiting Fred and Vilma.
The fictional town of Bedrock was built back in 1972, it served as the backdrop for the filming of the cartoon. Due to the fact that it is located far from inhabited areas, desolation reigned here for a long time. However, there is also a certain charm in this: "isolation" from civilization has become the reason that Bedrok has an almost primitive atmosphere.
Bedrock has many colorful reinforced concrete structures that recreate the magical atmosphere of the 1960s. Real fans, especially those whose childhood passed in this era, can easily plunge into a cartoon life here: on the streets of the town you can find a familiar department store, a police station, a prison and, of course, a beauty salon. In addition, the Flintstones' abode is worth a visit. Of course, the interior is inferior to the unusual house in Malibu, which we wrote about earlier on our website, but the American "version" also has its own charm. The atmosphere of the house, recreated to the smallest detail, is conducive to spiritual gatherings on chairs covered with the skins of saber-toothed tigers, to the music of a pterodactyl-gramophone. In the store, you can easily buy dinosaur ribs for dinner or an incredible slice of watermelon for dessert.
A variety of entertainment awaits tourists in the city. In the theater, located in the center of Bedrok, the legendary cartoon is constantly broadcast. You can ride the Fredmobile tram around the town, which runs around the volcano St. Vilma. By the way, Bedrok was recently partially restored and open to visitors, so today travelers from different countries come here with pleasure.
