Choosing a subject for creativity is, by far, one of the most important aspects in the career of any artist. It depends on her how much the master will be able to attract the viewer to his person and how deeply his talent will be revealed. For artist Dmitry Kolpashnikov, Russian landscape painting has become such a win-win theme. Looking at his mesmerizing canvases, one gets the impression that the Sorceress-nature herself, in tandem with the artist, worked on his paintings.
It is difficult to argue with the opinion of many who believe that the nature of Russia is the most beautiful and harmonious creation in the world. A Russian person, whether he is a resident of a small village or a multi-million dollar metropolis, getting into nature, immediately feels not only its power, extraordinary magnetism, but also an inextricable connection with it.
Very Russian landscapes by Dmitry Kolpashnikov
The genre of landscape in painting is, of course, her poetry, lyrical and sensual, truly inspiring and making her rise above the ordinary. That is why, in terms of perception, it is so close to each of us. Undoubtedly, in our today's virtual gallery, a selection of the artist's majestic landscapes will not leave anyone indifferent.
Artist Dmitry Kolpashnikov is rightfully considered one of the best successors of the Russian school of realistic painting. Supporting her traditions, the master fills each of his creations not only with the harmony of colors, but also with a soul, a certain exciting depth that plunges the viewer into reflections, nostalgic memories and serenity.
In each work we see a world filled with the restraint of the color palette, as well as a mesmerizing play of light and sophistication of forms; a world in which there is no place for ugliness and ugliness; a world that gives the viewer the opportunity to transform under the influence of beauty, and to find a seemingly lost inner harmony.
These pictures are so deep and emotional that one can get lost in them and raise from memory such memories that, it would seem, have long been forgotten irretrievably. This, of course, was, is and will be the magic power of the art of Russian painters.
Endless snow-covered fields, majestic forests, sunny glades, misty smooth surface of rivers and lakes, huts and water mills - this is what excites and inspires the master who is trying to convey to his viewer a piece of his soul and worldview. Some of the artist's landscapes look panoramic, revealing to the viewer the immense distance of his native land, its vastness, from which even captures the spirit.
This effect is enhanced by sunlight, which is present on almost every canvas of the artist. The sun, as a source of light, then rolls to the horizon, then rises above it, or even completely outside the plane of the picture. But, the presence of a heavenly body is palpable even in a foggy haze.
As you probably already noticed, the favorite subject of the painter in the landscape genre is the most magical time of the year, which inspires and fascinates not only the master himself, but also the viewer. It is worth noting that the naturalness of the natural landscape depicted in the artist's paintings is harmoniously combined with fabulousness and magic.
The manner in which the artist works is very close to classical realism. He "builds" his painting on the finest coloristic solutions, but at the same time compositionally covers a large space, which gives his works a monumental, and sometimes even epic sound. Kolpashnikov's pictorial plastic language is very individual, therefore, recognizable.
A few words about the master
Dmitry Kolpashnikov was born in 1964 in Tver. In 1983 he graduated from the Art School named after Venetsianov A. G. in his hometown. While still a student, Dmitry was looking for himself in different directions. But the closest to him was painting in the style of romantic realism in the genre of landscape.
At the beginning of his creative activity, the artist's works were exhibited, as a rule, in the salons and galleries of Moscow. And over the years, thanks to active exhibition activities, the artist gained popularity not only among the domestic public, his landscapes were appreciated abroad as well.
Today, the works of the world-renowned artist are in private collections in Germany, France, Belgium and China and, of course, Russia.
In the end, I would like to note that the works of the master of landscape painting from a provincial city, like living water, give water to the soul of the modern viewer, yearning for integrity, authenticity and purity. They, like a tuning fork, allow you to tune in to contemplation, understanding and sincere admiration.
