Every year on December 15, shortly before Christmas, in the square Lilla Torg, that in the Swedish city of Malmo, an amazing sculpture-installation appears in the form huge table lamp with a lampshade. The outlandish lamp is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malmö, as well as a useful decorative and functional decoration of the city. After all, this lamp not only illuminates the streets in the dark. During the day, it serves the townspeople and guests of the city as a place to relax, because the base of the lamp is a seat on which it is so comfortable to sit, looking at people passing by. A huge table lamp, reaching 5.8 meters in height, does not have a permanent place. All year she wanders around the city, decorating various streets and squares of Malmö, but in December she will definitely return to Lilla Torg. Here it is found by tourists and guests of the city. Near the landmark, a person clearly feels how small and fragile he is, even if this is not the case in life. It seems as if you fell into a fairy tale - about Alice in Wonderland, and inadvertently drank a bottle with the words "Drink me".
This lamp, however, is not just a sculpture, but a full-fledged street lamp. And when the lights are lit on the square in the evening, it gives so much light that it replaces several ordinary city lamps. Looking at the square illuminated by a giant table lamp, it seems that he was visiting Gulliver, and suddenly it becomes as pleasant and comfortable as at home. Of course, many romantics and couples in love do not miss the opportunity to sit down and relax under the warm cozy light of a night lamp. And sometimes talk to him. The lamp can speak, in the metallic voice of a robot, but only a few phrases, and only in Swedish.
The talking table lamp appeared on the streets of the city in 2006, and over the years it has become one of the most beloved art projects not only for guests of the city, but also for the inhabitants of Malmö.
