Someone chooses tall models for shooting, someone needs thin and blonde girls for the next campaign, but for photographer Marilyn Minter, the only criterion for selecting a model is a long tongue and beautiful lips. And this is not a joke at all.
Minter Minter is widely recognized for her interest in exploring the boundaries between high and low art. Not only does her work express a dichotomy, the method of presenting her photographs also gravitates to this. For the presentation of her photographs, the artist from New York chooses very unusual ways, placing them not only in galleries, but also on billboards and signs. "Green Pink Caviar" - this is the name of the exhibition of works by Merlin Minter at Salon 94 Freemans from April 28 to June 13, 2009. This is a collection of photorealistic paintings and graphic photographs with elements of sexuality and eroticism.
Merlin Minter made her models lick the bright candies and lollipops lying on the glass, capturing the whole process from the other side. Her photographs are taken in such a way as to create a picture. She does not use any graphic editors for her work, but prefers different aspects to create a painterly dense. Glass can be compared to linen, candy with paints, and the human body with a brush. Here is such an unusual approach to creating picture-photographs.
Merlin Minter was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and lives and works in New York. Her photographs are currently on display at the Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland, at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. Soon, the photographer will present a show at the La Conservera art center, Spain.

Expressive eroticism in the paintings of the artist from Barcelona
The figurative painting of the young artist from Barcelona Yolanda Martinez Dorda (Yolanda Mart í nez Dorda) looks fresh, bold and incredibly original. Vivid emotional pictures make you admire, and often empathize, because often Dorda turns to the topic of violence and oppression
Portraits from the paparazzi. Photorealistic paintings by Jeff Ramirez (Jeff Ramirez)
You say that all artists are out of this world and slightly out of their minds? Perhaps it is. Only in the case of Jeff Ramirez from Los Angeles, there is no doubt about it. So, the artist says about himself that he always felt as if he was living honey in two worlds, and did not fully understand what his real "I" was. In each of the worlds, he was a different person. Such a perception of himself did not give the artist the opportunity to create his own image, to associate himself with human beings
Strong women in photorealistic paintings by Ana Teresa Fernandez
As a child, Ana Teresa Fernandez heard the phrase: “men want to see a decent woman in their house, and a woman of easy virtue in bed”; and she remembered this expression forever. And it's true, a modern woman has to combine purity and depravity, innocence and attractiveness. But how do you balance sexuality with doing heavy housework? The artist believes that there is only one way - to be a strong woman
Girls behind the wheel: photorealistic retro paintings by Brian Tull
Driving girls can be treated differently, but it's hard to deny that they look very attractive. Photorealistic paintings by American artist Brian Tull (Nashville, Tennessee), stylized in the aesthetics of the 1940-50s, perfectly convey the nostalgic moods of a bygone era
