An avalanche might not be all that bad. It does not have to bury simple skiers or tourists under the snow, it can be a part of beauty, a part of art. This, of course, is not about a real avalanche, but about the installation of the same name. Daniel Arsham entitled "Avalanche"made by him for decoration theater in Miami.
The premiere block of a new production from the Merce Cunningham dance company took place at the Arsht Center theater in Miami from the second to the fourth of December 2010.
This dance performance, modern ballet, is unique in that not only the stage, but the theater hall itself is a place for art. After all, the famous artist Daniel Arsham worked on the design of the latter, commissioned by the Merce Cunningham dance company. He created the installation "Avalanche" right in the middle of the hall, consisting of huge white cubes, balls and pyramids.
One huge pile of these regular geometric shapes are right in the middle of the parterre, and many more are scattered throughout the hall, both in the parterre and on the balconies. So the audience, who came to the ballet, actually sit in the middle of its scenery. Thus, they become closer to the dancers, to what is happening on the stage, although there are fewer spectators at these performances than they could have been. After all, the installation "Avalanche" by Daniel Arsham itself occupies a decent part of the audience hall, and even cuts off those places that are behind it.
However, for the sake of creative experimentation, it was possible to go for a small decrease in the proceeds from the performances. Just for some reason, there have been too many all kinds of creative experiments in Miami recently. Just remember the pink snails installed on the streets of this city and the luminous Exhale Pavilion installation on the waterfront in Miami Beach.
