Contemporary art has taught us that any filth can become its object - it is enough just to give it a conceptual component and call it a work of art. As a proof of this statement, one can cite installation of Complex Pilepresented at the Hong Kong Inflatable Show.
Sprinkle Brigade created a series of not very attractive works in which they used excrement found on the street. And the American artist Paul McCarthy has inflated a similar object to an unprecedented size.
This is a Complex Pile inflatable figure depicting a giant pile of shit. This work is presented by the author as part of the mobile exposition of the M + Museum. This institution opened not so long ago in Hong Kong and has already begun to gain popularity thanks to such unusual exhibitions.
In addition to Complex Pile, the exhibition also includes five giant inflatable sculptures. One of them, House of Treasures, created by a Chinese artist named Cao Fei, is a huge roast pig so realistic that anyone can even walk through its guts. For this, the figure has a special entrance, and the interior of the House of Treasures is designed in strict accordance with the anatomical atlas.
Another inflatable sculpture presented in this exhibition, Sacrilege by Jeremy Deller, is a fairly accurate copy of the ancient Stonehenge object - one of the symbols of Great Britain, where the artist who created this work comes from.
The curator of the open-air exhibition from M + says that this exposition is an experiment, thanks to which the museum tried to make a project, the implementation of which is impossible in the cramped conditions of the premises of any museum in the world, even the most spacious.
