Using such fragile materials as glass or paper, an artist from Turkey Ardan Ozmenoglu gives a second life to ordinary household items, turning them into complex sculptural objects.
To create his compositions, Ardan arranges thin glasses one after another, on each of which, as it seems at first glance, absolutely abstract and chaotic dots and stripes are applied. However, the sheets arranged in this way eventually form a bizarre drawing - a tree, which, moreover, is capable of taking various forms, as soon as the viewer changes the viewing angle of the composition.
The artist was born in 1979 in Ankara. In 2002 she graduated from the Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at Bilkent University, and then worked for three years as a specialty in one of the design agencies in Ankara.
In 2005, the artist was invited as an assistant lecturer for the Bilkent University Summer School. A year later, she received her Master's degree in Graphic Design from her alma mater, Bilkent University. Since 2002, Ozmenoglu has been exhibiting a lot: she has a number of successful solo exhibitions and participation in many group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. Today Ozmenoglu works in his own workshop in Istanbul.
