The world is not without good people. And no matter what they say, but next to us there will always be sympathetic and compassionate people who will sincerely support and encourage, lending a helping hand. So, in the spring of last year, after the monstrous accident in Fukushima, every third artist, designer and sculptor dedicated their art projects in support of Japan, which were conventionally called "humanitarian aid" art. This year, such assistance is being provided to New York, the American "pearl" that has fallen victim to a devastating hurricane. And black and white city landscapes on fallen leaves - creative contribution Matthew Richards in support of New York. Matthew Richards lives and works in London, studies to become a designer at a local art college and dreams of becoming a full-time photographer, turning his hobby into a profession. His specialty is portrait photography, but as a freelancer, he is also involved in reportage photography, documenting various events, up to the London 2012 Olympics. Having visited New York just before the most powerful elements hit the city, and then, together with the rest of the world, watching this proud and strong handsome man recover from the disaster, Matthew Richards created a series of unusual creative works, combining the landscapes of New York streets with fallen autumn leaves.
Autumn and melancholy, rain and sadness, dampness and dullness, and also mountains of fallen leaves by the side of the roads, all this evokes melancholy, and makes you grieve about the sun, summer days, warm evenings and light bright clothes. But the mood with which the landscapes on the autumn leaves of Matthew Richards are saturated fully correspond to the situation to which they are dedicated. Tragedies happen, but life goes on as usual, and after the fall spring will come again, and fresh green leaves will appear on the trees instead of old, dry and ugly ones. New York is strong, he can handle it.
