Big pumpkin - this is a very useful thing if you like to go to balls, and your godmother is a fairy. But even if your godmother is just a godmother, the pumpkin will come in handy on the farm: after all, Halloween is coming soon, which means that Jack with a lamp will soon roll along the autumn roads. Just a couple of weeks in advance for Halloween, as if as a casting for the position of a lamp, a competition is being held in America the largest and most amazing pumpkins in the world.
The Pumpkin Show is held once a year in Circleville, Ohio and claims to be the largest free show in the world. It all started with the fact that in 1903, George Haswell decided to celebrate Pumpkin Day next to his store. The action attracted the attention of the entire district, and since then it has not been held only three times - in the midst of the First and then the Second World War. In other years, pumpkin was not complete.
It may sound strange, but the festival attracts an incredible crowd of pumpkin fans. To make it easier for them to move, they cover 12 blocks!
During the festival, processions and parades are held, the grown fruits are displayed, bought and sold, played music and baked colossal pumpkin pie … The baking dish doesn't even fit in Lindsay's bakery, but there is enough pie for all countless festival guests (if, of course, they know how to push their elbows).
And here you can see, perhaps, the biggest pumpkins on the planet. The giant fruits participating in the competition are weighed and awarded the royal title by putting on a cardboard crown on the pumpkin and recording its "author" in the annals of history. Weight of large pumpkins often goes off scale for 700 kilograms and approaches the world record (741, 4 kg). Yes, if this pumpkin was entrusted to Jack for Halloween, then by God's grace he would light a candle over England that would not go out forever!

Ugly Halloween. Amazing carved pumpkins by Marilyn Sunderland
This kind of creativity, like pumpkin carving, is most often remembered on the eve of All Saints Day. On Halloween, everything is teeming with witches, vampires, werewolves and other evil spirits, partially embodied in these pumpkin sculptures, created by the hands of a wide variety of carving masters. However, some varieties of this art have nothing to do with Halloween. So, the Polish sculptor Przemislav (Przemek) turns a pumpkin into unusual lamps, and Marilyn Sunderland creates
Big coin and big deception of sight
"Oh, what a small cart! Probably, it was made of the finest wire by some craftsmen in their free time from shoeing fleas" - if you thought so, then congratulations: you bought into the photo-drawing of funny Swedes from the Skrekkogle studio. Instead of making miniatures and shooting them next to small coins, they made a large coin and shoot ordinary objects next to it - and the result is the same
