Winter is not the best time to visit the botanical garden. Especially if it is open, and does not have indoor greenhouses with plants that bloom even in winter. But the leadership of such an institution in the American city of Atlanta encourages people to visit it right now, in December-January. After all, an amazing light installation has been created there. Garden Lights, Holiday Nights … Light installations are one of the most visually impressive forms of contemporary art. Notable examples of this include magic lanterns in the river and on land in Pennsylvania, drawings by windows of a dormitory at Wroclaw Polytechnic University, future coral reefs in Miami, or the luminous sound columns Volume from United Visual Artists.
Recently, an impressive light installation has appeared in the Botanical Gardens of the American city of Atlanta. Moreover, there she acts as a substitute for trees for the winter.
The installation Garden Lights, Holiday Nights was created jointly by Lighting Science Group and CD + M Lighting and Design Group, specializing in the art of light control. The creators also characterize it as a "glowing winter Wonderland".
Garden Lights, Holiday Nights is a few dozen glowing figures resembling trees and bushes. They look especially impressive, of course, in the dark (however, in winter it is very long, and darkness sets in by four o'clock in the afternoon). Thus, an object appeared in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, interesting even in cold weather, when all other plants are without leaves.
Moreover, the installation Garden Lights, Holiday Nights was created not only for beauty, but also to demonstrate the modern possibilities of energy-saving lighting. These artificial trees and bushes glow thanks to thousands of LEDs. Combined, they produce nearly 17 million color shades. But for their full-fledged work, only 10 watts of energy are needed.
You can admire the installation Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens during the Christmas and New Year holidays - in December 2011 and January 2012.

A trip to the museum, sadly enough, does not cause any enthusiasm among many: an enclosed space, dusty exhibits hidden behind glass … exhibition halls.
