"Animal faces"- sounds like a speech error: they have muzzles! But true animal lovers would rather call some human faces muzzles than the physiognomy of their favorites: after all, every animal is a person, and where a person is, there is a face. This proves with their wonderful works photographer Morten Coldby (Morten Koldby): His animal portraits convey the emotional complexity of our younger brothers. If, of course, you can call the lesser brothers of elephants, tigers and bears.

Morten Coldby lives in two cities: Aarhus (Denmark) and Berlin. After graduating from a Danish photography school, he assisted famous photographers for four years until he felt the strength to open his own studio. Now he is mainly engaged in commercial photography: advertising photography, fashion photography, and, of course, portraits. Some of his works have been published on Esquire.ru. And at his leisure, Morten Coldby rides motorcycles, climbs the mountains and visits the zoo - and more often than ordinary visitors. After all, he needs not only to look at the animals, but also to convey their facial expressions to us.

Attempts to show the emotions of animals have been undertaken by photographers more than once - remember at least the paired portraits of people and animals by Carly Davidson or the atmospheric sketches of Denis Buchel's canine life. But Morten Coldby does it a little differently. We don't know what facial expressions in animals really matter to them. Therefore, the photographer "captures" his models at the moment when their faces are the most human - and thus evoke sympathy and understanding in us, people.

After looking at the portraits of animals made by Coldby's hand, only a completely heartless person can shoot a deer, put on a wolf coat, or push an ivory billiard ball into the pocket. Such photos are the best propaganda of the ethical equality of man and animals, after which no green advertising is needed. Morten Coldby captures new pieces from his collection animal faces every weekend to make a great gift photo album out of them in the future.
