New York author Tom Fruin (Tom Fruin) recently came to Copenhagen, where he noted the creation of an installation of amazing beauty. A piece titled Kolonihavehus is a small house, the walls and roof of which are made of organic glass and resemble a medieval stained glass window.
The miracle house is located right on the street - on the square next to the Royal Library of Denmark. The frame of the piece consists of many steel frames welded together in 30 panels. In these frames, the author inserted colored plexiglass fragments, the sizes of which range from 5x5 to 60x90 sentiments. The whole structure is very easy to disassemble and transport, so it is possible that later this work can be seen in other cities. The installation looks original at any time of the day, but it is especially effective at night: thanks to the internal illumination, the house seems completely fabulous.
The installation was created for the CoreAct collective, which uses it in their open-air theatrical performances based on the poetry of the Danish author Vagn Steen. At the same time, everyone who wants to see the colorful house and musical and choreographic performances needs to hurry up: the show will be available for only one month - from October 14 to November 13, 2010.
Tom Fruin was born in Los Angeles in 1974 and now lives and works in New York. In his work, the author draws inspiration from everyday objects and urban surroundings. And to create the installation "Kolonihavehus", according to Fruin himself, he was inspired by an ordinary country house.
