In any city in the world there are a sufficient number of empty houses, abandoned for one reason or another. They were chosen for their needs by homeless people, informal youth or people of creative professions. For example, an artist Luisa Alvarezwho, with the help of light, returned life to a house abandoned many years ago.
Agree, light doesn't seem to be such a good material for painting. After all, he does not leave any traces after himself: it appears and immediately disappears. But this statement is only relevant for traditional visual arts. But we live in the twenty-first century! And in our time, practically nothing is impossible! Especially creatively. Therefore, there are artists who know how to paint with light. For example, street artist Armsrock, who creates light graffiti, or Philip Rus, who turned the luminous windows of a student dorm into a light installation.
The Spaniard Luisa Alvarez is also engaged in a similar type of painting. Her work includes the recently completed Habitando project, during which she brought life back to a long-abandoned apartment building for just a day. Of course, she did it with the help of light.
Moreover, Luisa Alvarez used both natural and artificial light. Using multicolored stained glass windows, cardboard and metal figures, as well as many lamps and LEDs, she created the illusion that the house was inhabited. Lights burned in its windows, and the moving silhouettes of people were visible in it. But at the same time, there was not a single soul inside the building.
Many people believe that the ghosts of people who once lived there live in old houses. For this reason, someone specifically climbs the abandoned buildings in search of the otherworldly, while someone, on the contrary, bypasses them. And, after the implementation of the Habitando project by Luisa Alvarez, even ghosts will be afraid to show in the house where this amazing project took place.
