It is almost impossible for a person born in a social group with a low status to climb up to a better life. At least in legal ways. This is what Chilean social advertising tells us about. You are the keycreated for a charitable organization Padre Hurtado Foundation … Some parents love their children very much and use them as sources of inspiration, while others do not pay attention to their children at all, or even drag them down with them. The You are the key advertising campaign tells about the latter kind of relationship.
You are the key posters designed by art director Sergio Araya and artist Gonzalo Arevalo. They depict children who are enclosed in a cage in the form of the body of an adult.
In one of these cells, you can recognize a bum who sat down right on the sidewalk to drink more alcohol. On the other, a prostitute walked up to a car parked next to her with potential clients. On the third, there is a family conflict in which one person beats another. And inside each of these cells sits a desperate little child who absolutely does not want such a fate.
“You are the key,” the advertisement tells us, calling for donations to open this cage and give children from poor, disadvantaged families a new future, much better and more fulfilling than their parents. First of all, the collected funds will be used to provide education and improve the living conditions of children who take care of the Padre Hurtado charitable foundation.
