You probably had to frame your work - paintings, embroidery, collages? Then why not frame your music too? Company Rebaroque launched the line "Sound frames"that not only look like expensive works of art, but on closer inspection turn out to be high quality loudspeakers.
The authors of the project, Rebecca Paul and Mikal Hameed, say that they wanted to create a work of art that would be functional, incorporate technology, look attractive and not harm the environment. For their creations, the team used antique frames, pieces of wood found on the streets (for the base inside the frame), and the fabric is unnecessary scraps or pieces of old clothes. The only element of the whole structure that is always new and high quality is the loudspeaker itself. However, if there are several of them in one frame, then a combination of one new loudspeaker with already used ones is possible.
Although the appearance of the "sound frames" evokes reflections of the Baroque style, these pieces are not antique or obsolete: each frame is equipped with a cable that can be used to establish a connection to a computer or media player. Another option is to connect using Bluetooth technologies. You can hang several loudspeakers in frames on the wall - and the original speaker system is ready!
So far, it is useless to look for "sound frames" in stores: they are made only to order. However, who knows: maybe it is in such a combination of technology and art that our future is. “We are incredibly proud of our project and look forward to seeing how it develops in the future,” says Rebecca Paul and Mikal Hameed.
