Cruise ship Costa Concordia, which recently crashed near the Italian island of Giglio, strives to become one of the main Mediterranean attractions. Despite the fact that 32 people died during the disaster, 20 of whom are still missing, thousands of tourists from all over the world come here every day to see the half-flooded ship with their own eyes and take a couple of photographs as a souvenir.
Tourists are happy to go on such an unusual journey: the ferry, which ferries everyone to the island of Giglio, passes literally a few tens of meters from the liner lying on one side. Curious travelers prudently stock up on picnic supplies to relax on the island overlooking the Costa Concordia.
Local authorities are concerned about the popularity of the liner among tourists, since it is, first of all, the site of the tragedy, and not a local attraction. However, tour operators are happy to offer trips to Costa Concordia for a nominal € 10 fee, and they are very popular with holidaymakers.
By the way, Costa Concordia is not the only ship that has become a "cultural object". On our website Kulturologiya.ru we have already written about a professional photographer, Austrian Andreas Franck, who organized a personal exhibition on a sunken ship. And those who are not fond of diving this year had the opportunity to go on a trip on the Balmoral cruise ship, which sailed along the Titanic route.

How the battleship Potemkin became the ship of the revolution, and where did the red flag come from on the ship?
The revolutionary actions that swept through the large cities of the Russian Empire in 1905 did not leave indifferent the sailors of the Black Sea Fleet. The rebels, mostly recruits, sympathized with the Social Democrats, regularly read anti-government newspapers and dreamed of ideas of justice. For 11 days the battleship Potemkin sailed in disorderly tossing between the seaside cities, on the deck of which a red flag was suddenly raised. But there were no people willing to support the riot, and the crew had to
"Where, miss? To the stars!" The Titanic route will follow the Balmoral cruise ship
One of the famous aphorisms of the greatest Briton Winston Churchill says: "Do not wish health and wealth, but wish good luck, because on the Titanic everyone was rich and healthy, but only a few were lucky!" This year marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the legendary ship. In memory of this tragedy, the British liner Balmoral went on a memorial cruise on the Titanic route from the port of Southampton (England) to New York
