Boo Ritson creates portraits of people in a rather unusual way. Instead of painting on canvas a person who is passively sitting on the sidelines, Ritson actively involves all of his models in the process of work. How? It's very simple: she draws directly on the clothes and bodies of these people, and then photographs the results.

Not so long ago, we talked about a young artist Alexa Meade, who is also a representative of body art. But if Alexa's works are similar to classic paintings, then you can't say the same about Boo Ritson's models: her characters are more like bright plastic dolls. And in his latest works, the author partially covers the bodies and clothes of people in white, and from this there are associations with marble sculptures.

Boo Ritson insists that all of her work be photographed before the paint dries. This means that she herself has to work at a fairly fast pace. “The more decisions I can make before I get into a very fast and chaotic drawing and have time to document it all, the better,” says Boo Ritson. On average, an artist takes from 30 minutes to an hour per person.

The artist loves to work more with those people with whom she is familiar, and especially with those whom she has painted before. But her dream is to work with Hollywood stars. So far Boo has not had such a chance, but who knows how fate will turn out, because once Ritson has already collaborated with celebrities: she created the cover for the album "Wall Of Arms" of the English indie rock band "The Maccabees".

Boo Ritson was born in 1969 in Surrey and currently lives and works in Chesham, England. Although she has to photograph every work she does, she considers herself an artist, not a photographer. Boo takes a camera in his hands only to document the results of his work and demonstrate them to other people: after all, viewers cannot get into the artist's studio, and the life of her "living pictures" is very short.
