Street art can be very different. Someone uses Lego bricks for this, someone draws graffiti, but the artist Aakash Nihalani acts in a slightly different way.
Can New York be made even brighter or is this city so perfect? The artist believes that it is possible, and that is what he does. Here's what he writes about his art:
“My work consists mainly of isometric rectangles and squares. I selectively place these drawings all over New York, trying to highlight and outline the geometry of the city itself. I'm trying to give people the chance to step into a different New York, not the one they are used to and, in turn, escape from boring schemes, schedules and life itself. We all need the opportunity to see the city in a playful way, in which the harmony of different colors and shapes reigns. I try to create a new space, into which everyone can calmly step, and suddenly separate from their reality.
I'm not trying to cram my own philosophy into life through art. I work instinctively, following my own thoughts and feelings about color and space, and enjoying it all.
People need to understand that life as it is is not necessarily what it should be. My work is a reaction to what we encounter in our lives by accident - sidewalks, doorways, buildings, bricks … I just connect the dots, creating my own drawing. People should see that they, like me, can create their creations, simply by connecting the dots …"
To some, this will not seem like a full-fledged street art, but there is something in it. To make doors three-dimensional, to depict non-existent bricks on the asphalt, and bicycles on the walls … The artist can not only do all this, but he gets his art with a plus!
