From year to year, talking about summer festivals on the Kulturologiya.ru website, we cannot ignore one of the most common beach hobbies - the creation of sand sculptures. It would seem that it is impossible to invent a bicycle, but more and more new images never cease to amaze the audience. Today we will talk about the largest sand sculpture festival in the world, which takes place annually in the Belgian city Blankenberg.
Beach art traditionally attracts many sculptors who are not averse to demonstrating their skill in creating castles and all kinds of sculptures. We have already talked about the Russian festival, which traditionally takes place in St. Petersburg, and the American one, located on the beach in Florida. The Belgians also know a lot about such events - this year, 150 works have been exhibited for the audience.
All sculptures are made of sand, the total area of the festival is more than 4 thousand square meters. m. The sculptors did a great job: before the opening of the festival, work was in full swing here. Installation, carving, modeling - each creation was worth a huge expenditure of effort and energy. The artists drew inspiration from both cinema and history. Next to fictional characters (for example, Robocop and the heroes of the fcult film "Avatar"), you can easily find a sculpture of an Egyptian pharaoh or Abraham Lincoln. Of course, the fragility of these sculptures evokes sadness, but the power of human talent and determination that created this beauty is admirable!
