Computers, on the one hand, made our life much easier, but at the same time, a number of difficulties appeared that no one faced in the pre-computer era. Now we are talking about the disposal of obsolete equipment - one of the most important problems of all mankind. We have already talked about Diane Ritter and Nika Gentry converting floppy disks into paintings and other art objects. And today we present another author who creates sculptures from outdated printed circuit boards.
Everyone agrees that recycling printed circuit boards is much better than just burying them as trash in the ground, where they will lie for hundreds of years. Well, if you combine processing with talent and artistic vision of the world, then we get interesting and original works of art. For example, artist and computer enthusiast Steven Rodrig creates sculptures from printed circuit boards. By combining boards with other electronics, the author transforms them into a wide variety of forms. For example, the series "Organic Life Forms" is dedicated to various representatives of the world of flora and fauna: here and a dragonfly, and cacti, and even a sea turtle.
However, Stephen is not limited only to the natural world: there is also a collection of fashionable electronic shoes among his works.
“All my work is made exclusively from electronic parts. In my sculptures, I try to imagine how a living organic world can be represented with the help of electronics that surrounds us in everyday life,”says the author.
