Tomihide was born in Japan. His career as a photographer did not start in a very standard way, to say the least - it so happened that his hobby for diving prompted the young man to take up photography professionally, and of course, water became the main theme of his work.

It all started in 2000 when Tomihide got a job as a photographer's assistant. Since 2002, he began his independent career in the art of photography. At first, prosaically - as a freelance photographer, he shot for magazines, advertising posters and catalogs, but already his first non-commercial work made it possible to understand how talented and original author he is.

In 2007, the very first series of photographs on the water theme, WAVE ("Wave"), was awarded 1st prize in the Advertising (self promotion) competition in the International photography category. In 2008, at the Prix de la Photography competition in Paris, there are already two series of his works - "Wave" and its logical continuation - Breath ("Breathing") received a high award in the category "Water".

Tomihide is faithful to the chosen theme. Water attracts with its dual nature: it creates, but it also destroys. This is the most powerful element that a person is unable to subdue, being so strongly dependent on it.

“We cannot live without water, just as we cannot live in water,” says the photographer. Placing his models in an environment alien to humans, the photographer touches on complex philosophical questions about our place in the world, about being and about the value of simple things.
