Returning from trips and long journeys, people bring with them gigabytes of photographs as a keepsake of what happened. Among them - a lot of pictures taken in the very heart of the city, where the main movement is concentrated, the brightest events take place, and the most interesting people meet. Young Polish artist Maja Wronska brings with him not only photographs. Each city where she happened to visit, she paints a portrait, depicting in watercolor not only what can be seen with the eyes, but also feelings, emotions, impressions of what she saw and experienced. The artist pays a lot of attention to architecture, writing out all the subtleties and features of picturesque buildings. She spares no time for detailing the façade bas-reliefs, sculptural elements of roofs, balconies, fences, stairs, bridges … But despite the abundance of details, Maya Vronskaya's watercolor works do not look massive, rough and heavy. Thanks to the technique, as well as the neat subtlety of the lines, her cityscapes appear transparent, airy, weightless, and incredibly romantic, no matter what is depicted on paper. Even the majestic temples and churches, noisy highways and deserted lanes, painted by a talented artist, are filled with that special romance that a traveler, a lover of change and a hunter of new impressions takes with him on the road.
Theaters and museums, churches and churches, palaces, aristocratic buildings, and even whole streets lined with paving stones and decorated with ancient lanterns - all this gives Maya Vronskaya inspiration and inspiration, because she is not only an artist, but also a future architect. The author studies architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology, hence such a keen interest in the city landscape and a genuine admiration for the masterpieces of architectural art. Vronskaya's collection of watercolors contains beautiful views of modern Paris and Frankfurt, Venice, Prague, Warsaw, Rome, Florence, Krakow and other European capitals, not only official, but also creative.
For some time now, the geography of the artist's watercolor notes has expanded, and among the cityscapes one can notice American landmarks, such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the famous Empire State Building in New York, and many other recognizable places. You can get acquainted with the work of the young artist on her website.

Crumbled watercolor portraits. Celebrities in Crushed Watercolor Portraits by Borja Martinez
The portraits created by the young Spanish artist Borja Martinez, although they are watercolors, are not painted on paper, but "crumbled". Instead of dipping a brush in water and then picking up paint of the desired color from a palette, Borja Martinez breaks dry watercolor into small pieces, down to grains of sand, and then lays out portraits of celebrities from these multi-colored crumbs. This unusual project is called Crushed Watercolor Portraits
