Elina Bystritskaya was called one of the first beauties of Soviet cinema, and the audience will forever remember her in the role of Aksinya from Sergei Gerasimov's film "Quiet Don". Elina Avraamovna passed away at the age of 92, but even after her death, proceedings continued in connection with the last days of her life. Then Sofia Shegelman, the sister of Elina Bystritskaya, was even accused of harming the actress. But everything turned out to be much more complicated.

Two sisters

Sofia and Elina Bystritsky were very close all their lives, despite the nine-year age difference. The actress invariably called her sister "my youngest", even when they both reached a very respectable age.

During the war, the sisters with their mother and cousin Misha traveled on a train carrying the wounded. Father, a military doctor, was on the front line, mother prepared food for the wounded, Elina became a nurse and secretly from her parents even donated blood for the seriously wounded, carried them on a stretcher. Subsequently, the war years with the hardest psycho-emotional and physical stress affected the fate of the great actress: she forever lost the opportunity to become a mother.

But she did not regret anything, and she always called her nephew Peter, the son of Sophia, "our son." Sofia married Vadim Shegelman, gave birth to a son, and in 1989 moved with her family to Israel. But the connection between the sisters remained. They met at every opportunity and bought a house in Vilnius, where they lived at one time. There they dreamed of gathering all the relatives someday, but by the will of fate they often stayed there together, sometimes getting out for a month or even for several days to communicate with each other.

And once in 2011, Elina Bystritskaya came to Vilnius with Ksenia Rubtsova and introduced her to her sister as her assistant. Sofia Shegelman was then a little surprised by Ksenia. The young woman was very well-groomed, wore expensive clothes, but at the same time she was rude, sometimes very strong expressions allowed herself, without being ashamed of her sisters. But Elina Avraamovna treated Rubtsova very kindly, took care of her comfort.

However, Sofia Avraamovna was also glad that a close person appeared next to her sister, whom she seemed to trust. And Ksenia Rubtsova did her best to serve the actress. But a year later, Ksenia called the sister of the actress in Israel and reported that Elina Bystritskaya had kicked her out. As it turned out, the actress several times caught her assistant in a lie, which she could not stand, and decided to part with her. At that time, Sofia Avraamovna persuaded her sister to give Xenia another chance, which she later bitterly regretted.

Bitter days

In 2017, the actress's nephew Peter needed an urgent operation. Sofia Shegelman then turned to her sister for financial help, and she, no longer able to reach the bank herself, wrote a power of attorney for Ksenia Rubtsova, who withdrew the necessary amount and transferred the relatives of Elina Bystritskaya to Israel. Since then, the actress's assistant had a power of attorney in her hands, which allowed her to manage the money, which she repeatedly used. In total, about 35 million rubles have disappeared from the account of the actress.

But that was not a problem either. When Elina Bystritskaya began to get sick, Ksenia Rubtsova organized her care by hiring two nurses. Sofia Shegelman became worried when over and over again nurses answered her phone calls, informing her that her sister was asleep. A day, another, a third, a week … And then a letter came to Sophia Avraamovna's e-mail, in which she was informed that Elina Bystritskaya was brazenly robbed. When Sofia Shegelman tried to talk to her sister, she again heard an answer: she had eaten and was sleeping.

The next day, Sofia Avraamovna contacted her sister's doctor and suddenly found out that she was in a very bad condition, had suffered bronchitis, and even her body was falling all the time and bruised. The doctor was angry at the relatives of the actress, who left Elina Bystritskaya without proper care. Sofia dropped everything and flew to Moscow, not understanding why Ksenia Rubtsova not only did not organize everything as it should, but also did not inform her about the problems.

The situation in Moscow turned out to be truly catastrophic. Elina Bystritskaya did not recognize her sister, and the nurses, as it turned out, did not perform their duties too diligently. In their defense, they only said that Elina Avraamovna did not allow them to wash herself, prefers tea with a sandwich from food, and generally does not like it when strangers are in her room.

As a result, Sofia Shegelman kicked out the nurses, invited a theater doctor who served the actors for a consultation, later discovered the loss of money from the actress's account and, together with Elina Bystritskaya, wrote a statement to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to investigate. However, the matter was clear enough: only Ksenia Rubtsova had access to the account.

Crime and Punishment

Until the last day of Elina Bystritskaya, her sister was with her. She hired a good nurse to help herself, since she herself could not raise the actress who had almost never got up, read poetry to Elina Avraamovna, watched her medication, talked a lot. We can say with confidence: the actress in her last days did not particularly need anything, she was calm, well-fed and happy next to her dearest person.

However, after the departure of the actress, a whole company was launched against Sofia Shegelman. Ksenia Rubtsova and the nurses, who were kicked out at the time by the actress's sister, argued that Elina Bystritskaya did not receive either care or food in recent days, her sister deliberately starved her.

Sofia Shegelman was forced to make excuses for what she did not do. There were also accusations against Sofia Avraamovna that she contributed not only to the death of her sister, but also in the past - to her own mother, having taken her to a psychiatric hospital. Mom passed away back in 1979, and in the last minutes of her life she was surrounded by loved ones and held her youngest daughter by the hand.

At first, the actress's sister was not going to make excuses. She was 82 years old, had lived a long life and had recently lost her sister. But still she had to defend herself. Fortunately, the audit showed that Sofia Shegelman provided her sister with proper care.

But the criminal case against the producer Ksenia Rubtsova ended in court. The former "assistant" of the actress was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and the payment to the sister of the actress Sofia Shegelman the amount that disappeared from the account of Elina Bystritskaya - almost 35 million rubles.
