Old-timers say that there were once a huge number of hares on the Hare Island in St. Petersburg. Surprisingly, the first monument to this eared animal appeared here only in 2003: a tiny sculpture is easy to see near the Ioannovsky Bridge. And recently another one appeared on the island Hare, but already of impressive size. Its creator is famous sculptor Florentijn Hofman.
The readers of the site Culturology. Ru are very familiar with the works of Florentin Hoffman. This artist became famous for his love of exaggeration, all his works are striking in their enormous size. Animals are a favorite theme of Florentin Hoffmann, who previously surprised the audience with yellow ducks, garbage snails, dead flies, giant muskrats and fat monkeys. By the way, there were hares too: the artist had already surprised the Swedes with a yellow "plush" hare. Now the time has come for Russians to see with their own eyes what this giant artist is capable of.
The sculpture of a hare is completely made of wood, the author presented it at the festival "Contemporary Art in a Traditional Museum", which is now taking place in St. Petersburg. The huge beast looks funny: it peacefully lies under the sun right in the middle of the island. The dimensions are impressive: 15 m long, 8 m wide and 2.5 m high. If you want to climb on a hare is not difficult, therefore all visitors to the Peter and Paul Fortress can take a picture with an eared eagle. The wonder animal will stay on the Hare Island until October 13, so Petersburgers have a great chance to get out on an amazing walk and replenish their photo album with an unusual picture. The hare will definitely appeal to both children and adults!

"Lying around the world" - an original way of knowing the planet
Everybody got bored with the usual photo reports from the trips. There is usually nothing original and creative about them. The same turrets, houses, rivers, mountains. Boredom! Installations by Florentin Hoffmann: Size Matters
Dutchman Florentijn Hofman believes that the bigger the objects, the better they are. If the thing is in its normal size, that's fine, but much more interesting if it is huge. Maybe the installations by Florentin Hoffmann do not pretend to be in line with the masterpieces of world art, but they, without a doubt, cause surprise, a smile and make the world at least a little more fun

The sun is under the industrial zone. The giant work of Olafur Eliasson in Dnepropetrovsk
In recent years, even in our vastness, the idea of factories as soulless industrial monsters has begun to change to a much more positive one. As examples, we can cite the workshop Height 239 as part of the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, which looks like a toy, or the new Dneprostal plant in Dnepropetrovsk, in the design of which Olafur Eliasson, one of the greatest sculptors of our time, was involved
